FRIENDS

This is my good friend Dani and I at work, and yes we're working, notice the chart in front of me. Dani is a Nurse Tech, she's also going to school to be an RN and she's also only 19, or maybe she's 20 now. Anyway, she is a great kid, she doesn't drink, smoke or like alot of drama in her life. Now that's a rare kid nowadays. I think alot of her and I know she will always keep her values. She has a great future ahead of her and she deserves it. I've met alot of wonderful people since I've become a nurse 10 years ago. Very caring, dedicated and hardworking. Yes, it is very hard work, physically and mentally. It is scarry at times to think you are responsible for someone's life, recovery, and sometimes peaceful death. I've learned so much this past year at St. John's. Working with cancer patients and becoming Chemo certified was the best thing I could have done for me in my career. Cancer patients are like no other patients. They are optimistic and cheerful. They are a joy to take care of. It has given me a whole new perspective about my career and what nursing is all about. I'll be forever greatful for the opportunities that St. John's has given me and I accepted their offer to stay on as an employee. (Also, the fact they made me a great offer). So I will give them the best I have to give also and enjoy my time there starting my next adventure!!!

MY COUSINS

Last month my Aunt Jeanette passed away. She was my dad's only brother's wife. Dad and Uncle Ralph have been gone for many years. She was my link to my past on my dad's side of the family. While I lived in Virginia, and came home for visits, she would always come by to see me. Several times she gave me old pictures. These are 4 of her 5 children. I have many fun memories of each of them. I loved to stay at Aunt Jeanette's when I was a kid. I had not seen some of them for over 30 years. But I intend on keeping in contact now, they are beautiful, wonderful people.

SPRING IS HERE...for today anyway

Today's the first really nice day we've had all winter. I think it's somewhere in the low 60's, but tomorrow it might snow! I wanted to go out to the yard but it's really muddy. So..I'm here on the computer. Last week Greg and I spent a couple of days in Springfield and finally made it to the Lincoln Museum. It was real nice, that picture of Abe's family is in the center of the museum when you walk in, they are so life like. That's a pic of Greg standing next to young Abe in front of his log cabin. Oh that top picture is me standing next to a car we were test driving that day. We weren't seriously looking, just playing around.

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

A couple of Sundays ago was the big Football Day. The Giants won against the Patriots. I only watch for the commercials... Rebecca, Michael and his girlfriend and his daughter MacKenzi were here. I think Michael and Greg were the only ones really into it. But we did have alot of good food. Isn't that what it's all about ??

LAST OF THE ALBUM

MY LITTLE GUY

February is here already, in fact Valentines Day is almost here!! These are the last two pages of the album I made for my son at Christmas. Greg and I want to go out to Virginia again this summer,(I'll be finding a different hospital though), cause he didn't get to spend much time there, having to come back for harvest. I'll be at St. John's till sometime in May. I really love it there, but am getting anxious to travel again. Next Spring(2009) we want to go to Florida and we plan on going to Minnesota, and out west, and oh there's that Ireland job too.....

MAYBE I'M AMAZED

I love this picture of my son Daniel watching his daughter practice softball. He has become a good man, a great father, and has always been a loving and caring son. His visits with his daughter are far between and sometimes under uncomfortable circumstances, but he still goes and holds his head up hiding the pain and hurt. I hope someday she knows how important it has been to him to always see her. If she doesn't...I will be sure to tell her.

You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star.....
